Announcement and invitation to participate: international exhibition of fine-artist physicians

To whom it may concern:

I am the founding director of Asklepios-Med, which is a private medical practice and research center in Hungary. I have realized that the relatively high number of foreign students in Hungarian medical schools, and the increased call for Hungarian physicians to work abroad including your country, clearly demonstrate the good relationship and friendly partnership between the two nations with respect to health-care. Moreover, growing interest in and need for establishing both scientific and extra-professional activities exist among Hungarian and foreign doctors.

Indeed, serving as a physician as well as a senior scientist (principal investigator) in an international scientific and medical consortium, I have had time to note that health-care providers, including myself, not only perform the science and art of maintaining and restoring human health, but some of them also provide culture-making services to society. The term ars medicina, therefore, is much broader, however people consider us "only" doctors, even though many physicians – in addition to treating patients – paint, do sculptures, play the piano etc, and some of their works are indeed breath-taking, albeit not yet recognized.

In addition to direct patient care and science, and based on the above observation, Asklepios-Med regularly organizes exhibition-series of fine-artist physicians and concerts of doctor-musicians from all over the world. There has never been such a cultural event of this kind in Hungary, and the first few stations of the exhibition-series that we organized since 2007 were well received by both medical professionals and the public. Hungary was one of the oldest, largest and most powerful kingdoms in Europe. She has always been a key role-player in the region, and a continuous connection between East and West: several royal summits of kings also regularly took place here. Hungary is now a small country in Central Europe with long history, beautiful landscape, fine cultural heritage, and friendly people. As part of our aim to continue with this tradition, we seek to join together fine-artist physicians from all over Europe and around the world to exhibit their master-pieces in Hungary and abroad, and involve as many nations as possible to both participate in and host our events. This would grant doctors, scientists and other health-care providers to exchange ideas both on the artistic front, as well as on the professional horizon.

In order to proceed with these traditions and in continuation of our successful intellectual events around the globe, the next chapter of the exhibition-series of Asklepios-Med will be held on April 25, 2025 in Beijing, China. This internationally renowned important cultural, scientific, financial, touristic and historical city will also offer splendid attractions. The event itself will take place at 14:00 hours (local time) in the gallery of the Liszt institute – Hungarian cultural center (Galaxy Soho (building-A, gf #10128-10129), Dongcheng district, CN-100010 Beijing, China), located in the extensive historic city center. As a role, performance of select doctor-musicians will accompany this one-of-its-kind event, during which fine-artist medical professionals may introduce themselves. As a courtesy of Asklepios-Med, complimentary refreshments will also be served to all colleagues and their accompanying partners.

I cordially invite you to join our upcoming exhibition in this lovely place. The art-works to be displayed may include paintings, sculptures, photos, embroidery, and anything considered fine-art. There will be neither selection, nor censorship of any kind.
